ICE SKI SUNGLASSES
Ice is a hybrid of two original pairs from our sports sunglasses range, these being the Expert (lenses) and Breeze (white frame). The elements are brought together to create a fantastic looking, and highly practical pair of sunglasses that suit a range of winter sports applications. The main features of Ice ski sunglasses are:
- lightweight, wrap-around frame
- Frame made from a tough TR90 composite
- 3 x interchangeable lens sets for different light conditions
- Lenses have vent cut-outs for anti-fogging
- Adjustable nose clip
- Carry case, cleaning cloth and retainer strap included as standard
The Frames
Finished in a highly attractive white and red scheme, the frames have rubberised tips for comfort. Being extremely light, and thanks to a slight flex that makes the sunglasses fit most sizes and shapes of head well, Ice are very comfortable to wear. The frame is made from TR90, a plastic composite material famous for being virtually bullet-proof and thus superior to the more common polycarbonate.
The Ice frame also benefits from an adjustable rubber nose clip, which can be narrowed or widened to exactly fit the wearer's requirements.All Rapid Eyewear sunglasses comply with current British, European and US standards. They offer 100% UVA / UVB (uv400) protection on all lens sets.
The Lenses
Made from an extremely robust and impact resistant polycarbonate, all lenses bundled with Ice are made to very high optical standards. Three sets of lenses are provided as standard, and these are as follows:
- Category 0, light-enhancing. For use on dull or cloudy days
- Category 2, beige polarised. For use on fairly bright or changeable days
- Category 3, red Frostech mirror for use on bright / sunny days
All lenses supplied with Ice are anti-scratch coated, and decentred, which means the possible distorting effects of placing a curved lens in front of your eyes are calibrated out at the manufacturing stage.
All lenses filter out blue light, which improves the definition of the field and ball in your field of view.
The Package
Ice are supplied with a microfibre cleaning cloth, retainer strap and carry case as standard. The case has internal pouches for storing the extra lenses, plus a belt fixing catch and loops, making for easy access to your sunglasses when you need them in a hurry.
Conformity
All Rapid Eyewear sunglasses comply with current British, European and US standards. They offer 100% UVA / UVB (uv400) protection on all lens sets.
Additional Lens Options
We are pleased to offer additional lenses for those who want to make their Ice sunglasses even more versatile.
Our clear, impact resistant untinted lens set makes Ice ideal for use as safety glasses when a tint is not required. Despite having no tint, this lens set is still 100% UV protected, and has vent cut-outs.
We are also offering the blue Frostech lenses used in our Breeze model, that will give your sunglasses a different look every time you wear them.
The green mirror polarised lens set has been specifically designed for golf - through cutting blue light, it features superb definition and contrast on the course, allowing you to read the terrain and greens far better.
We are pleased to be able to offer a grey polarised mirror lens option too.
